Our Private Reserve Estate Zinfandel is produced from estate vines planted by our grandfather over 70 years ago. These vineyards continue to produce an extremely deep-fruited Zinfandel. After fermentation and initial racking, this wine went straight to 60-gallon French and American oak barrels for approximately fifteen months before bottling.
This 2007 Estate Zinfandel opens with wild berry and light oak aromas that reveal hints of strawberry, spice, vanilla, floral and watermelon. Lively fruit embraces the palate with a long, soft finish of oak, ripe strawberry and subtle tangerine.
Displaying an exceptional balance of fruit, spice, oak, and tannin, this wine is excellent with lamb, steak, spicy pasta dishes and well aged cheeses.
