What is it?
Explore the depth and breadth of Zinfandel at this internationally recognized informal walk-around wine tasting. Taste premier Zinfandels, including barrel samples and new releases.
An estimated 250 wineries will pour.
Winemakers and principals will showcase their artistic dedication and commitment to their craft. For those who have previously attended, you already know this event is famous for its fun-filled atmosphere, where the Zinfandel community has come together for the last 18 years to celebrate America's Heritage wine.
Is the Tasting held in two buildings?
Yes, the event is held in the Herbst and Festival Buildings. Attendees will be allowed to enter either building at any time during the event.
When you enter, you will receive a complimentary, commemorative ZAP wine tasting glass. Replacement glasses may be purchased for $5 at Marketplace.
When traveling between buildings, your glass must be empty.
How do I find my favorite wineries?
Wineries are arranged in alphabetical order divided between the two buildings.
Will there be food?
Yes. When you enter, you will receive your own loaf of bread. Tables are set throughout the pavilions with a variety of cheeses and other items to nibble. Coffee will be provided by Jeremiah's Pick, ZAP's official coffee sponsor.
Festival Sponsors
Join us in thanking our top level sponsors who help make the Festival possible.
How do I dress for the event?
Casual, informal with comfortable shoes. We recommend low/no heeled shoes. The pavilions are drafty. Coat check is available for $1 per item.
Where can I purchase ZAP logo merchandise and the Heritage Vineyard Zinfandel?
ZAP's Marketplace, in the Festival Pavilion, will offer exciting new merchandise, including the 2005 Heritage Vineyard Zinfandel (produced by Bill Knuttel, Dry Creek Vineyard,) caps, T-shirts, chocolates and more!
Click here for more information on the Heritage Vineyard.
Can I purchase winery items at the Tasting?
The
Silent Auction
will be held in the middle, right side of the Festival Pavilion as you enter. A vast array of unique Zinfandel items, specially etched bottles, big bottle formats, winery excursions, "meet the winemaker" events, one-of-a-kind items and a treasure trove of Zinfandel delights will be available. Proceeds from the Silent Auction benefit ZAP's Heritage Projects--preserving the historical and viticultural significance of America's Heritage Wine--Zinfandel.
Registration is easy!
Shipping will be available on-site for items purchased at the Silent Auction and ZAP's Marketplace through
WW Shipping Solutions, Inc.
ZAP's official shipper.
Where can I park?
Fort Mason charges for parking. The first hour is free and the maximum charge is $8. There are no in/out privileges.
Parking is limited. ZAP strongly encourages the use of public transportation. ZAP expects the Fort Mason Center parking lot to be full. Additional parking is available for ZAP event attendees at Marina Middle School, on Bay at Webster (a 2-1/2 block walk from Fort Mason Center) for $10/day. Please allow extra time to park and walk to the venue.
