Five wines each from six growing regions will be presented at a seated non-blind tasting with Spencer Christian moderating and winemakers commenting. After your palletes have warmed up, you will take a break and dine with the winemakers for lunch at Julia’s Kitchen—COPIA’s renowned restaurant. Get ready to spend the day immersing your senses.

Can I purchase tickets at the door?

No. Tickets to this event are sold by advance purchase through the Fort Mason Box Office. No tickets are available through COPIA. Seating is limited. ZAP anticipates this event will quickly sell out.

What is it?

An educational exploration into six California Zinfandel growing regions, exemplified by a tasting of five 2000 Zinfandels per region: Bay Area/Central Valley; Central Coast/Southern California; Lake/ Mendocino; Napa; Sierra Foothills; Sonoma. Spencer Christian from ABC7 News will moderate the discussions. Attendees will be guided through each flight by the winemakers from each region. Participating wineries are identified on the winery list in this Information Guide.

How do I dress for the event?

Dress in comfortable clothes and be prepared to sit for periods of time in a classroom setting.

Will there be food?

Lunch is served at Julia’s Kitchen, COPIA’s renowned restaurant. Tasting is formal with multiple Zinfandels poured in advance at each place setting called “flights.” Dump buckets and “spit” cups will be available. Palate cleansers will be provided.

Yes, you can tour COPIA after the event. COPIA’s gift shop, Cornucopia will be open from 12-1:30 p.m.
